Lovella Romine, 94 year old resident of Shattuck, Oklahoma, died December 26, 2010 at the Shattuck Nursing Home.  Lovella Maxine Karn was born to Milroy and Marguerite Karn on February 3rd, 1916 at home on the family farm, located in the Chaney/Catesby area, 12 miles North of Shattuck.
At the age of five, following the death of their mother, Lovella and brother Willard went to love with their grandparents, H.W. and Sarah Karn, where they attended Mt. Hope Country School. As a teenager, she moved to town to attend Shattuck High School, where she graduated.
In 1934, Lovella married Joe Taylor. To this union, two children were born, Robert Lee and Joella Marguerite.
In 1947, Lovella married Henry Romine. To this union one child was born, David Willard.
Henry and Lovella were married 57 years and made their home in Shattuck.
In Lovella's early years of marriage she was a homemaker. Later, she worked for Best Way Foods,  Shattuck National Bank, and then as the Insurance Clerk for Newman Memorial Hospital until she retired.
Lovella enjoyed cooking, and was an excellent seamstress. She was an award-winning quilter and was also proficient in crochet and knitting. She loved to do almost any type of crafts, including ceramics. Give her a fishing pole and she was happy.

Lovella loved the Lord and enjoyed listening  to evangelists such as Dr. Charles Stanley and Billy Graham, making notes on their different sermons when possible.
